Veterans, employers discuss life after military
by Ashley Lowery
Employers and educators met with veterans and their spouses during the RecruitMilitary Opportunity Expo at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale Thursday.
The expo is one of 74 across the United States and the first of three that take place in Phoenix in 2010. During the event, veterans and their spouses met with employers and educators to talk about opportunities for veterans in civilian life.
Kelly Jensen, with Glendale Community College, said his college offers a scholarship that reduces tuition for veterans per semester hour.
“I was a recruiter for 16 years and I get to help people again. Its great,” said Jensen.
Glendale Community College, FRANNET, Arizona Army National Guard, Collins College, Arizona Public Service Company and Guidance Helicopter Training were among the exhibitors that attended the expo.
