RecruitMilitary to Present Jobs/Business/Education Expo for Veterans in New Orleans on July 8

New Orleans (PR Log) June 10, 2010 – RecruitMilitary, a military-to-civilian recruiting firm based in Cincinnati, will present a civilian employment, entrepreneurship, and education Opportunity Expo for job seekers who have military backgrounds in New Orleans on Thursday, July 8. This event will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Fair Grounds Race Course and Slots. RecruitMilitary is inviting veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, military spouses, and other military family members. Attendance will be free for the job seekers.

RecruitMilitary expects more than 25 employers, franchisors, and educational institutions to reserve exhibitor booths at the Expo. Already signed up are Capella University, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), Coca-Cola, Cox Communications, the Department of the Navy – Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), DeVry University, Home Depot, Limestone College, Lockheed Martin Corporation, the Louisiana Air National Guard, Military Sealift Command, Northrop Grumman, Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems (PEO-EIS) – Space and Naval Systems Command (SPAWAR), Prudential, Strategic Restaurants, Sheraton New Orleans Hotel, Strayer University, Tulane University, United States Capitol Police, University of New Orleans, URS Corporation, and Whelan Security.

RecruitMilitary (www2.recruitmilitary.com) will produce the Expo in cooperation with The American Legion, Purple Heart Services, and the Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (MSCCN).

The American Legion (http://www.legion.org) is an association of veterans who served during times of war. The Legion has 2.7 million members in nearly 15,000 posts throughout the world. Congress chartered the association in 1919.

Purple Heart Services (http://www.purpleheartservices.com) provides programs and services to meet the needs of the combat-wounded and their families—including Purple Heart Radio, an online school called Veterans Vocational Technical Institute (VetTech), Purple Heart Call Center, and Purple Heart Tech Support. Purple Heart Services is a division of the Military Order of the Purple Heart Service Foundation.

The Military Spouse Corporate Career Network (http://www.msccn.org) was founded in 2004 to provide career opportunities and job portability for military spouses. The organization is made up of military spouses, caregivers to war wounded, and retired military personnel.
